The Roos Got Through!!!

Time started: 8:19pm
Place: My room
Weather: Fine
Mood: Happy!!!!

THE SOCCEROOS GOT THROUGH TO ROUND TWO! I CAN DIE HAPPY!
I invited Eliza over to sleep over for the match. In the morning we walked around Casuarina and came across a pile of yarn of all sorts of colours. I got a strange idea of making a pom pom and Eliza happily approved of that idea. We chose green and gold so we could make something to represent our patriotism and to cheer on the socceroos.
We arrived back to my place at around 1pm and just mucked around on the computer for a few hours.
After we had a pizza dinner, we got started with making the pom poms while watching videos (The Swan Princess and The Kind and I). We started the pom poms at 8:30pm, we finished at 4:30am just before the match between Australia and Croatia. We thought to ourselves: We stayed up this late and made pom poms for 8 hours just for this...this better be worth it!
I must say it was a rather tragic beginning for the socceroos. In the first two minutes, Croatia managed to score a goal with a free kick. Eliza and I had a spirit that just went ka-putt. So much for them getting into the second round we thought...
I swear the referees must have something against the socceroos...For the match against Japan, they let Japan score a goal even though they pushed our goalie over, which was an obvious foul. For the match against Brazil, Kewell couldn't get awarded a penalty kick, even though the Brazillian defender fouled, tripping him over in a goal scoring opportunity. The referee in this match was the worst...Viduka was in a good goal opportunity moment, while he was dribbling the ball in the penalty box, toward the goal, and this defender had his arms around his waist, restricting Viduka's movements for a good 8 seconds and the referee refuses to give them a penalty kick. What the hell?! The second time, Australia had another goal scoring opportunity, however the Croatian defender handballed it out. The referee STILL didn't offer them a penalty kick. That was two almost definite goals taken away from the socceroos.
Overall it was a really exciting game. Australia were out...then they were in, after Moore scored the first goal. Then they were out again after Croatia scored a rather unspectacular goal, because of the poor performance from Kalac, the Aussie goalie, but Harry Kewell...wow...he saved the day with his spectacular goal!
I feel for Viduka. He probably had the most shots on goal out of the entire team, yet he still failed to score one single goal...Viduka has such incredible luck (or lack of) with goals...XD...poor guy...
Kennedy is a player that makes me laugh. He is definitely not the most technically skilled player on earth, but he has such a big heart while playing. It's great watching him run psycho around the field. He did quite a lot of good for the team. It's great ^.^
Anyway...one last thing...
GO GHANA! YOU'VE COME A LONG WAY AND YOU BEAT THE CZECH REPULIC! HATS DOWN TO YOU ALL!!!I HOPE YOU KICK BRAZIL'S ARSE IN THE TOP 16!!!!!!!!!
Oh yes...and also...
GO THE SOCCEROOS! KICK ITALY'S ARSES!!!
